Crop List: Cosmic Mix, Rainbow Carrots, Summer Squash, Pickling Cucumber, Red Onions, Yukon Gold Potatoes, Dill, Cilantro, Maybe Tomatoes, Sugar Snap Peas, Shell Peas, Slicing Cucumbers, Broccoli and/or Green Beans

Our tasks at the farm are quickly changing. Weeding is a thing of earlier in the season. We are working as quickly as possible to get the garden emptied out. All of our labor hours are going towards harvesting. Or getting ready to harvest, or cleaning up from harvesting, or washing and weighing the harvest! There is still a lot of produce out there! AND no frost yet...or any in the forecast. I love the years when we are still able to eat summer squash and working to get the potatoes out of the garden. It's a sweet overlap. It feels like maximum abundance with pretty dreamy weather sprinkled on top.
Our shares will be going to at least week 18 this year...we'll let you know more as we know. We'll begin our 2026 membership drive next week! Sign up early and get yourself some Cosmic Swag! Details in next week's newsletter.
Food for our Neighbors!
Cosmic Apple donates 4 shares to the Teton Valley Food Pantry (TVFP) every year. We love doing this. We believe everyone deserves real food. But here's the part that's even better...The Cosmic Community (YOU) raised enough funds this year, that we were able to collectively donate an additional 9 shares! Every week the TVFP picks up 13 shares of fresh, organic, real food for folks who need some help getting food on the table.
I've been lucky in life. I've always had food in front of me. As an adult I have been able to wrap my head around being one injury away from food insecurity. I've thought (in my dark moments) of what would happen to our family if Jed or I was seriously injured or became ill for an extended period. How would we keep the farm going? How would we provide for our family? It can be really scary just to think about it...but it's real. When I'm feeling down, or challenged, sick or low energy...I turn to food. How can I heal my body right now? What food will give me energy to persevere. (I wish it was always chocolate...life would be easier!) I usually need something nutritious, fresh and made from scratch.
Take a moment to think about if you were in a situation where you needed to feed your family or pay a bill. Ugh. I'm so grateful the TVFP is available to alleviate the challenge of those decisions. Beyond just being there to fill someone's stomach, our Pantry is outstanding in their commitment to providing fresh real food. Food that actually helps folks get healthy again and live with dignity. Things that really make a difference in getting on ones feet again.
Here's the truth...as a community the healthier we are together, the more our whole community can thrive. It's easy to think folks would prefer processed food...and it's not true. The Pantry has told me how much our neighbors "light up" when they see fresh vegetables as an option. The day the Cosmic shares arrive is the biggest day of the week at TVFP. The Cosmic Community is making a difference in people's lives every week.
If you donated for 2025, THANK YOU. If you are able to donate for 2026, consider adding $20 or more to your share payment. We do this together. If you want to donate directly, TVFP is a non-profit. You can directly donate to them and make sure to let them know the money is for Cosmic shares.
